Jane Ankenbauer, COO

Leadership and Medical Team

Jane is the COO of Independent Family Doctors and has worked alongside Dr. Josh to help grow the practice throughout the Treasure Valley. With a background as an Office Manager and CNA, along with certification in Hospice and Palliative Care, she brings both compassion and practical experience to the team.

Jane is often one of the first people patients and local business owners meet. She helps answer questions, welcomes new patients, and works directly with employers who are interested in offering Independent Family Doctors as a healthcare benefit for their teams. She loves getting out into the community, meeting business owners, building relationships, and helping people understand how direct primary care can make healthcare simpler.

Jane grew up in Central Pennsylvania, where her health care career started at just 15 years old. While finishing High School, Jane worked as a personal care assistant and strived to know more about the patients, their lives, and their families, and ultimately how she could best serve them in their current chapter of life. Jane and her husband relocated in 2013 to be closer to his family. Since then, they have grown their family to 6 with the most recent baby who arrived in 2025.

Jane took every opportunity to learn more and was often a new employee mentor during her time as a CNA and Office Manager at a local Hospice Agency. Jane has a passion for all things nursing. She prides herself on delivering excellent customer service to every patient, potential patient, and visitor she encounters. She is committed to educating the public on this unique way of accessing healthcare services.

When not working, Jane enjoys being at home with her family. Summer is her favorite season, and if Idaho had a beach with fresh warm waters, she would live there.
